Our Mission

The Metropolitan Contractor Improvement Partnership seeks to assist viable minority businesses improve their business and management systems to improve their profitability and net worth.

Our Services

MCIP provides training on a variety of general business topics, such as estimating, project management, and accounting. Our clases are taught by seasoned professionals in the construction field, whose primary goal is to help minority contractors improve their businesses and increase their bottom line.

  • Track key expenses and modify approaches to increase profitability
  • Develop material purchasing strategies
  • Use technology to do things more efficiently
  • Provide bid information and alerts to MCIP and NAMCO members
  • Increase or expand your market
  • Identify strategies to minimize risk to reduce expenses, insurance and bonding costs

Who qualifies for MCIP training?

MCIP's goal is to work closely with 15-20 contractors each year. To qualify for the training program, contractors must have:

  • Minimum of five years in the industry
  • CCB License, insurance and surety bond
  • Basic understanding of blueprints
  • Basic bookkeeping system
  • Basic written estimating system
  • Three references
  • Commitment to learning and applying training

  • Credit Toward CCB Learning Requirements
